The Shooting Federation of Canada is proud to partner with local organizations to host the Canadian Junior Nationals Air Gun Championships every year. The championships are typically towards the end of March.
Traditionally on years ending with an even number the championship is held remotely, with matches being held simultaneously for all interested Junior Shooters (21 years old or under as of Dec 31st that year). Provinces coordinate matches to accommodate all juniors in their province, and scores are submitted to SFC for rankings.
On years that end with an odd number, SFC, with a provincial partner, hosts an in-person championship event.
For 2026 the event was a remote design with multiple matches held simultaneously across Canada and saw a record number of attendees with over 180 participants this year. The growth of the sport with our Juniors is a fantastic sign of the future for target shooting in Canada!
The weekend was a great success bringing junior athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers and parents together. SFC wants to extend our gratitude to the many volunteers that gave their time to support their provincial events and especially to the Match Directors at each location. SFC partners with the Provincial Shooting Organization in each participating province to deliver this unique event.
Thank you to all shooters for participating in this year’s Junior Nationals! Congratulations to all of you that participated and especially those that tried something new or set their personal bests.
The next in-person event is scheduled for March 25th to 28th 2027 in Quebec City.
