The SFC Athlete Council serves as a formal advisory body that represents the perspectives of athletes within the Shooting Federation of Canada. Its primary role is to provide athlete-informed input, advice, and recommendations to the SFC Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer on policies, programs, and decisions that directly affect athletes.

The Council supports effective communication between athletes and SFC leadership by identifying issues of concern, gathering feedback from athletes in High Performance programs, and bringing those matters forward for consideration. It also provides structured input on key documents and processes, including athlete agreements, team selection criteria, AAP nomination criteria, and other high performance program related matters.

The Athlete Council is led by an elected Executive that acts on behalf of the Council throughout the year and ensures continuity of communication and representation. A representative of the Council also participates in the annual AthletesCAN Forum, supporting alignment with broader athlete representation and governance practices in Canadian sport.
