Ottawa, May 2, 2025 – The Shooting Federation of Canada (SFC) is pleased to announce that Terry Dillon has been appointed our permanent CEO. With over 20 years of leadership experience spanning education, business, sport, and the nonprofit sector, Terry brings a wealth of expertise and a passion for high performance and organizational development.
Terry joined SFC as interim CEO in late January, following his successful tenure as CEO of Rowing Canada Aviron. Terry brings a wealth of knowledge of the Canadian sport system and experience in Canadian sport organizations along with a strong governance background. Terry is an accredited director with the Chartered Governance Institute of Canada, holds an MBA from Cranfield University, and is a proud Olympian.
As interim CEO for less than three months, Terry had the opportunity to interact with and witness the passion of our athletes, coaches, officials, and membership, observe some of the hurdles our organization faces, and see the opportunities.
“The shooting sports in Canada and the Shooting Federation of Canada are a passionate community and I am excited to apply my knowledge, skills, and experience, and to work with you to elevate our Sport and help our Canadian athletes achieve their potential” says Terry from his base in British Columbia.
Dr. Sandra Honour, Chair of the SFC Board of Directors, says, “In a few short months, Terry has been able to assess our situation incredibly quickly and has identified ways for our organization to become more effective and better support our athletes. I am very optimistic that we can improve the environment for Canadian target shooting athletes with Terry at the helm.”
The SFC Board of Directors is very pleased that Terry Dillon has agreed to stay on and provide the leadership we need. We are looking forward to the next Olympic Quadrennial of growth and success.
