These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the websites, portals, and online services operated by the
Shooting Federation of Canada (SFC) | Fédération de tir du Canada (FTC) (collectively, the “Site” or “Services”),
including membership and event registration features.

By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1. About SFC | FTC

SFC | FTC is a membership-based organization supporting and promoting target shooting in Canada and delivering programs, services, and events for members, clubs, coaches, officials, athletes, and the broader community.

2. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

3. Privacy

Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect personal information.

4. Eligibility and User Responsibilities

You agree that you will:

  • Use the Site only for lawful purposes and in compliance with applicable laws.
  • Provide accurate, current information when creating an account, registering, donating, or purchasing.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials and notify us of any suspected unauthorized access.

If you are using the Site on behalf of an organization (e.g., a club), you confirm you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

5. Accounts, Membership, and Member Services

Some Services require an account and/or paid membership. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, our policies, or applicable law, or that pose risk to the organization, the Site, or other users.

6. Purchases, Payments, and Renewals

The Site may allow you to purchase memberships, register for programs/events, donate, or purchase other Services.

  • Prices and availability may change without notice (subject to applicable law).
  • Payment processing may be provided through third-party payment processors. Your payment is also subject to the processor’s terms and privacy practices.

7. Refunds, Cancellations, and Transfers

Refunds and cancellations are governed by our Refund Policy.

  • Membership fees are paid annually and are not refundable or prorated once paid.
  • For programs/courses/events, refunds may be available if a withdrawal request is received in writing up to
    7 days prior to the start date, typically subject to an administration fee (and potentially payment processing fees).
  • Within 7 days of a program start date, refunds are generally not issued; transfer rules may apply.
  • If SFC cancels a course/program due to insufficient registration or other circumstances, full refunds are generally provided.

8. Event Registration Rules and Participant Conduct

Registrations may be subject to specific eligibility rules, capacity limits, deadlines, safety requirements, and on-site conduct expectations.

Where applicable, SFC policies (including conduct, safety, and sport integrity policies) may apply to participants, staff, officials, volunteers, and attendees.

9. Acceptable Use

You must not:

  • Interfere with or disrupt the Site, servers, or networks.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Site, accounts, or systems.
  • Upload or transmit malware, harmful code, or content intended to compromise security.
  • Use the Site to harass, threaten, defame, or discriminate against others.
  • Submit false or misleading information (including impersonation).

10. User Content (Submissions, Forms, Listings, Comments)

If the Site allows you to submit content (e.g., forms, directory information, comments, uploads):

  • You represent you have the rights to submit it and that it does not violate any law or third-party rights.
  • You grant SFC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, display, and distribute that content for the purposes of operating and promoting the Services (unless restricted by law or our Privacy Policy).
  • We may remove or moderate content at our discretion.

11. Intellectual Property

All Site content (text, graphics, logos, design, downloadable materials, and software) is owned by or licensed to SFC, and is protected by intellectual property laws.

You may view, download, and print pages for personal, non-commercial use only, unless we expressly authorize otherwise in writing.

The Site may include links to third-party websites or services. SFC is not responsible for third-party content, practices, availability, or policies.

Use third-party services at your own risk and review their terms.

13. No Professional Advice

Information on the Site may be provided for general informational purposes. It is not legal, medical, or professional advice. You should consult qualified professionals for advice specific to your situation.

14. Disclaimers

The Site and Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, SFC disclaims warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SFC (and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, contractors, and agents) will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Site or Services.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the minimum permitted by law.

16. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SFC and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, contractors, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

  • your use of the Site,
  • your content or submissions,
  • your violation of these Terms, policies, or applicable law.

17. Termination

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate your access to the Site at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or pose risk to the organization, the Site, or other users.

18. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the laws of the Province of Ontario, without regard to conflict of laws principles. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Ontario, Canada.
