Competition Development SHOTGUN Training Course (Comp Dev)

Formation des entraîneurs de niveau Compétition développement

This course will be run evenings 7:30 - 10:30 pm Eastern Standard Time on Tuesdays and several Sundays in May and early June.

Online Course Schedule:

  • Tuesdays 
    • May 21, 28,
    • June 4, 11, 18 
  • Sundays 
    • May 19th and;
    • June 2
  • The course will take about 3 hours per session
  • Mandatory online/phone attendance on these dates is required (see note below) .
  • Two hours of homework per week between each webinar date will be required.

To be qualified to take this course you need to have both some prerequisites which include Instructor Beginner coach courses/ or international experience evaluated on a case by case basis, and some NCCP multisport training must have been taken or you are in the process of taking these courses. (The vocabulary used is introduced in NCCP thus it will make this course easier to follow).

Should you complete your portfolio of requirements over this summer, your evaluation can take place this August at the SFC ISSF Trap Nationals in Barrie Ontario or Saskatoon ISSF Skeet Nationals by arrangement with instructor. (There is also a permanent evaluator in BC, Ontario and Alberta for alternate dates).

Cost:

  • $300 (online payment). (Complete Course)
  • Evaluation fee will follow.

Please note:

  • IMPORTANT: You must be certified SHOTGUN  IB Coach prior to registering 
  • You also need to be a member of the SFC 
  • A minimum number of attendees are required to run the course


Course material and Log in will be available on the SFC Website under <MEMBERS> dropdown < COACHES QUARTERS> once you have given access.


**** Competition Development guidelines require coaches to work with a high performance athlete for a minimum of 1 year and have completed multi-sport modules prior to evaluation being conducted ****

PLEASE NOTE Eastern Standard Time

This online workshop is tailored for coaches of athletes who wish to equip themselves with fundamental shooting coaching knowledge. The workshop focuses on planning, safety, basic teaching and learning theory, as well as preparing coaches to analyze shooting skills. Trainees have to complete exercises and read some part of their manual between sessions. 1 in-person session of 3h00 with a facilitator from the same province for the final evaluation. (There will be a $75 fee for evaluation).
